It Starts With Strength
The foundation of a Strong & Supple body is strength.
By adding movement, you will find it improves your training. Unlocking more mobility and allowing you to transfer that strength more functionally. And you will appreciate the improved flexibility, as well.
And if strength training is all new to you, all the better. As a novice your body will adapt much quicker. And by developing strength and flexibility, you will even build an incredibly lean and nimble physique!
The best way to strengthen the body is through progressive resistance training. Using repetitions of concentric and isometric exercises. This can be achieved using weights, and/or bodyweight only exercises.
Weight training is advantageous in that it will be easier to increase the resistance. You can simply add more weight to increase the load over time. With bodyweight training, you will need to reduce the mechanical advantage. For example, advancing from pushups to one-arm pushups.
Whichever path you follow, you should be getting stronger through Progressive Overload. This is the key to a strength or endurance training program.
But remember, strength isn’t our only focus. There are exercises and practices you should include to ensure a body that moves functionally.

When it comes to improving how you move in your body, just doing stretches after your workouts won’t cut it…
While you DO want to lengthen the muscles, you also want to include tension on the muscles as you explore end ranges of motion.
This will help you to strengthen the deep connective tissues surrounding the joints. All while lengthening your muscles and improving flexibility in an incredible way!
WithinMVMNT shares a unique approach to yoga with modern mobility exercise. You can use it outside of your strength training. OR you can include these as a hybrid – using yoga and calisthenics in a circuit style training regime.
The great thing about yoga is that it offers many poses and stretches you can use according to your workouts. For example, reclined hand-to-big-toe pose is one of the best stretches after deadlifts. Even better, you can tailor full yoga classes for weightlifters. These are great to include as supplement to your high-intensity training.
A regular yoga practice does wonders for your body and mind. And in conjunction with strength training, it’s one of the main ingredients for a body that is Strong & Supple.
WithinMVMNT’s yoga classes are different from traditional practices.
Mainly, we utilize the Pranayama (the breath) and Asana (yoga poses) for physiological outcomes. Training your body and mind.
Yoga is NOT just stretching.

Yoga offers POWERFUL benefits for your body and mind. And it’s the perfect practice to complement strength training with.
Stepping Outside of Comfort
With strength training and yoga, you should be continually expanding your boundaries.
However, while we seek to improve the body, the real challenge here lies in the mind. It’s at the edges of your potential where resistance lies. Telling you to go back to what’s safe.
Baptiste refers to this edge in Journey Into Power.
The edge is where we come right up against ourselves and what we can do and be. It is the boundary between where we are and where we grow, the place of comfortable discomfort, where all growing and healing happens. The edge is the point in every pose when you are still within your capacities but are challenging yourself to go just a little bit farther. Stepping up to this edge and daring to leap is how you break through and thus break with old ways of beingBaron Baptiste Journey Into Power
And what happens when you are coming up to those last reps? Or holding that yoga pose just for a few more breaths? What comes up??
“I can’t… I’m not strong enough… I don’t have it in me…”
But there’s another voice there. One of encouragement…
“You’ve got this… just one more rep… only a few more seconds to go…”
That Power is Within you. And it shows up at those ‘edges’. Allowing you to overcome previously believed limitations in yourself.
That’s the TRUE power in training your body and mind.
Strong & Supple is about building a body that is strong and mobile. As well as a disciplined mind that is open and adaptable to explore further growth.
Welcome to WithinMVMNT
So welcome. So glad you are here.
My name is Jason, and I am the founder of this webby site.
For over a decade, I have been highly active in fitness and yoga. In 2016 I became a personal trainer. And that’s when I noticed more immobile bodies. As a yogi, I discovered the beautiful balance between strength training and yoga. Even after multiple torn ligaments, broken bones, and strains – through skateboarding, snowboarding, martial arts, and high-intensity training – I learned how important it was to ensure my body remained Strong & Supple.
I feel confidence in how I look physically. Even more important, however, is the ability to move my body in a way I never thought possible.
And now this website exists to help you do the same.
If that resonates with you – if you are interested in building a strong & supple body – then you are in the right place.
A good place to start is the Daily MVMNT Series. This free training series gives you mobility exercises you can anywhere, anytime.
